What does Yaeyama Chlorella do?
Yaeyama Chlorella is a subspecies of Chlorella vulgaris, a single-celled, fresh water algae. Yaeyama Chlorella is grown in the environmentally pristine coral reef region of Japan?s Ishigaki Island using mountain spring water, tropical sunshine and food grade nutrients. Yaeyama Chlorella cell walls are broken by high impact jet-spray drying that pulverizes the algae wall for increased absorption of its vital nutrients.
Yaeyama Chlorella offers rich amounts of chlorophyll, Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF is high in RNA/DNA), proteins, beta carotene, B vitamins and various minerals. The phytonutrients in Yaeyama Chlorella support healthy cell growth and development and promote detoxification, especially heavy metal excretion.* Yaeyama means richer, more flavorful and more nutritious chlorella!
Suggested Usage
Take 5 capsules per day with juice or water, or as directed by your qualified health care consultant.
Other Ingredients
Rice flour, magnesium stearate (vegetarian source), and silicon dioxide. Capsule consists of gelatin.
No wheat, no gluten, no soy, no dairy, no egg, no fish/shellfish, no nuts/tree nuts.

FULL ARTICLE ON THIS PRODUCT FOLLOWS:

Jarrow Formulas® Yaeyama Chlorella is a subspecies of Chlorella vulgaris, a single-celled fresh water algae. Yaeyama Chlorella is grown in outdoor freshwater ponds in the environmentally pristine coral reef region of Ishigaki Island at the southernmost tip of the Japanese Islands, far from the industrial areas. The island’s own mountain-filtered water is enriched with nutrients to optimize the growth of the chlorella under Ishigaki’s tropical sunshine. High impact jet-spray drying thoroughly breaks the cell walls of the chlorella to ensure that the resulting product is highly digestible.

Yaeyama Chlorella contains up to three time the concentration of key chlorella nutrients found in some other chlorella products.

Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF)

The story of chlorella growth factor (CGF) goes gack to the 1950’s Scientific Research Center in Tokyo. Dr. Fujimaki of the Center used eletrtophoresis to separate a substance from a hot water extract of chlorella. This special growth factor was found to be especially rich in DNA. In fact, chlorella contains 17 times the amount of DNA found in sardines, probably the next richest natural source of these nucleic acids. Chlorella is approximately 10% RNA

and 3% DNA.

Some scientists consider RNA and DNA to be “long life factors.” The internal “machinery” of cells, whether involved in reproductive or signally functions, revolves around RNA and DNA. As the boy ages, the production of these compounds slows down. Poor lifestyle habits and environmental conditions also reduce the rate of production of RNA and DNA. These include smoking, alcohol, pollution, poor eating habits, and lack of exercise.

The components of CGF provide the basic building material for the immune system, tissue repair, the production of enzyme\s, proper bowel function, etc. In trials with mice, CGF extended lifespan by 30%. Yaeyama Chlorella is approximately 25% CCG.

The Truth About Chlorella Cell Walls

Chlorella algae, unlike most other green foods has a tough cell wall which is not easily digested. Without special processing, digestibility is only on the order of 50%. Improving digestibility is desirable, however, the wrong type of processing results in the loss of nutritive value. For this reason Yaeyama developed a special spray-dry method for rupturing the cell walls of chlorella without causing any major changes in nutritive or functional parameters. In the resulting product. Digestibility for Jarrow FORMULAS® is greater than 80%.

The cell wall of chlorella needs to be ruptured to afford the greatest nutritional benefit. Nevertheless, components of the chlorella cell wall also provide important health benefits. These cell wall contstituents bind to toxins and supply high-grade fiber. Compounds found in the cell wall also activate sensing componenets of the immune system. Hence although the chlorella cell wall needs to be disrupted, it should not be thought of as being without benefit.

Chlorophyll

Chlorella is one of the richest sources of the green plant pigment chlorophyll. In its various forms, both water-soluble and fat-soluble, chlorophyll has many uses. It is often touted to control purification and unwanted odors in the body and as an aid to healing. In the fat-soluble form found in fresh plants, chlorophyll positively modulates the production of hemoglobin and red blood cell production. It has been suggested that similarity of the chlorophyll molecule to the heme portion of the hemoglobin molecule makes it useful to the body in the area of blood maintenance. Chlorophyll, as is true of many other such colorful plant pigments, is a significant antioxidant. Traditional herbalsim classifies chlorohphyll as a blood purifier.

Other Benefits

As a deep green food, chlorella is said to have an “alkalinizing” effect upon the body. Some of this effect is indirect in that chlorella promotes the growth of lactobacilli in the intestines and thus helps to improve overall bowel health. With its content of easily assimilated vitamins, minerals and various plant factors, chlorella is a concentrated green food. Indeed, chlorella is one the earliest instances of a “functional food.” That is, a food with special nutritive properties. It is also an example of a true “food source” supplement for nutrients.

Usage

As a dietary supplement take 5 to 20 tablets per day with juice or water, or as directed by your qualified health professional.
